Bio

From 1965-1990 Leo organized and delivered presentations, courses and tours for local and regional nature and environment organisations such as NVWS (astronomy and meteorology), KNNV (field biology) en IVN (nature and environmental education) and worked as a volunteer for De Kleine Aarde, Vogeltjesmuseum and Milieu Educatie Centrum.

From 1990 till 2005 activities shifted to graphic design, information and communication technology. Since 2005 he combines his passion for nature, environment, sustainability and self-sufficiency with his educational mission and ICT skills as an independent advisor and developer.

Leo is a certified primary school teacher and secondary school biology & Dutch language teacher. He is a member of NIBI, the Dutch organisation for biology professionals.

From 2003 till 2007 Leo lived in Western Australia where he got his Permaculture Design Certificate from David Coleman and Claire Everett of Living Waters Permaculture Foundation in Denmark, Western Australia. He also attended a workshop Greywater Systems with Ross Mars in Rockingham, WA. He developed projects for the Denmark High School, Denmark Tip Shop, Denmark Environment Centre and West Pilbara Communities for Children. As a volunteer he was involved with Albany GateWAy, Denmark WA Learning Community, Australian Bamboo Society and Ecocean.

Back in the Netherlands (April 2007) he joined Transition Town Eindhoven (TTE) and Ecodorp Brabant as a volunteer. For TTE he initiated the first PermaBlitz in July 2009.
